My title

From the Superintendent

The school year has begun and time is already counting down on the number of hours our children have in school.  With 180 days of school, every minute counts in learning new standards or mastering standards we have already been exposed to.

With that we have to remember that we only have a set amount of time to learn these standards.  Teachers are working on using every minute in the classroom to ensure concepts are being taught.  As parents we need to ensure our children are in school everyday so they have every opportunity to learn.  Every absence can create a child to miss a new concept or fall behind their peers.  Lets make our #1 priority this year to take advantage of every available minute we can learn.

This should continue at home.  Every child should read at least 20 minutes every night.  Doing this they will be exposed to new vocabulary words and concepts.  Making it a family affair will be something we can cherish the rest of our lives and will provide skills our children will use the rest of theirs.

I wish all teachers, students, and parents a safe and enjoyable school year.
